10 months!

Dear Fancy Fox,
Ten months! You are the cleverest, sweetest, cutest, smartest little creature I have ever seen/met/had a hand in creating. You are such a big boy and you are doing and figuring out new things every single day.
You are shy to strangers (and even to non-strangers we haven't seen in awhile) and only want to say "dada," which is maddening! You recognize patterns (like when the door opens, someone will come in the house) and people (usually greeted by a loud shriek of "DADA!"). You crawl everywhere, or rather, drag yourself everywhere (you still haven't figured out how to put it all together quite yet). You love to clap, and will dance to yourself whenever you hear music. You want to do everything by yourself, and will remove my hands if they are in the way. You are pulling up on everything, and figure out every hiding spot for the remote within seconds. I swear, you are going to be a super-genius.
You are huge--still in size 4 diapers, but wearing mostly 12-18 month clothes! Daddy may get his basketball player yet. Your hair is getting so thick and Daddy and I laugh at the old pictures of your mullet and your nearly-bald baby head. I think it is going to be curly!
You are doing better with eating, now that you have discovered puffs, which you eat by the greedy handful, and HappyBaby baby food, which you can drink like a juicebox. You still prefer milk from mama, and I have a feeling you are going to be unhappy with me when we make the switch over in the next few months.
We love you so much, and it is so cool watching you experience things for the first time, and figure things out for yourself. You are turning into such a big boy and we pray that you will grow into a great man.
We love you, Olly.
Love, Mama & Daddy.

can't win 'em all.

Thank you to fellow OU alumni, Mandi and Travis, who, on a layover in Cleveland, hung out with us for a bit and presented Olly with his very own Cavs warmup suit and sweet book encouraging his mama's-boy-ness. I approve wholeheartedly.

Olly was feeling less cooperative about the whole matter, avoiding eye contact during the visit and refusing to be photographed in his new ensemble.

whatever and ever.

Things have been pretty busy around these parts, and I'm still in a posting funk, but I do have some photos to share from the past week or so.

Above is from Olly's grandma and great-grandma visit. From the picture, it seems really action-packed, but truthfully, it was low-key and freezing. It was nice because my grandma hadn't seen him since the summer. Just a few things have changed since then. :)
Tom's Nana got Olly this hat. I like that it has strings on it so we can tie it to his head.

He is getting so stinking big and when he wears outfits with pants and shoes and everything, he looks even bigger!

So much bigger, that he goes grocery shopping on his own. Just kidding. I am actually crouched down, holding him up. We crack ourselves up, I tell you.

011, oh whatever.

I've not been in much of a blogging mood. Olly has decided he doesn't much care for napping regularly, or for going to bed until 10 pm, at least. He is more mobile and cavalier and is bumping his head and face on everything he can think of. He finds ways to turn everything into a game of "Let's try to escape from Mommy by barrell rolling to freedom," most noteably, diaper changing and car seat time. That being said, he is still cute.

Thank goodness.

And also, if this house doesn't clean itself by the end of the weekend, I may scream.

And also, get this strawberry licorice away from me.
